These two heart opening, nourishing & protective plants have been brewing in dark aged Guyanese rum - with cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, vanilla & coconut.
Cacao's allyship here is truly meant for its heart opening and softening abilities. It also is a nourishing & nutritive friend, chock full of flavonoids, other antioxidants & minerals.
Hawthorne is a full and complete medicine all on its own.
It's loaded with antioxidants, strengthens the cardiovascular system, stabilizes blood pressure, reduces anxiety & high cholesterol, aids digestion, boosts energy & strengthens your immune system. It truly nourishes, strengthens and protects the heart through a holistic healing approach.
Years ago, I was inspired to create this blend with honor to my Jamaican/Maroon lineage, where chocolate tea with spices like nutmeg and a splash of coconut milk was a staple in my home. Even black cake , comes to mind with respect to how these spices dance in Demerara rum, (black cake; usually made with Wray & Nephew).
Now I return back to this formulary as a means to navigate the stances one must take during these difficult human times… to encourage and maintain openness, softness with discernment & fierce nourishment & protection.
